You will play a crucial role in improving, operating and managing IT Systems.Develop and maintain a release schedules to track scheduled deployments, maintenance windows, dependencies, and risksObtain customer approvals before any functionality is released to environmentsAlign release management processes with ITIL 4 best practices focusing on efficiency, automation, and service value deliveryParticipate in ECCB and ECAB to coordinate release activities with the customer and Modules to ensure interoperability between systemsEstablish a structured release process that aligns with governance policiesMaintain a Release Listing Document that tracks all planned, in progress, and completed releasesCoordinate with development, QA, operations and business teamsDefine release scope, objectives, and timelinesOversee the release deployment process, ensuring all pre-release steps are complete (i.e., testing production validation)Develop and enforce rollback plans and contingency strategies in case of release failuresEnsure smooth transitions between development, testing, and production environmentsAct as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholdersAct as the primary point of contact for all release related activityDevelop reports providing visibility into timelines, status, and quality of releasesWHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEEDBring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Release Manager must have:Five (5) years of work experience managing new product releases or related experienceTwo (2) years of work with Change Management, Incidents, and CAB processes and proceduresWorking knowledge of deployment strategies and executing release windows and cyclesWorking knowledge of IT best practices, policies and regulations, software development lifecycle, and ITIL Release Management MethodologyWorking knowledge of Risk Management and MitigationBachelors degree in computer science, computer information systems, or related field Additional Information: Location: Montgomery, AL area. Security: A background check will be required. Timeline: This is a contingent job posting. Work is not expected to begin until December 2026 or later.
